{"id":3278,"date":"2014-02-22T10:22:27","date_gmt":"2014-02-22T14:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oldsandals.net\/?p=3278"},"modified":"2014-02-22T10:22:27","modified_gmt":"2014-02-22T14:22:27","slug":"pure-at-the-source","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oldsandals.net\/?p=3278","title":{"rendered":"Pure at the Source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.\u00a0 1 Corinthians 11:2<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tradition&#8212;holy tradition&#8212;is a good thing.\u00a0 Holy tradition is the way the teaching was passed down and preserved in the very early church, before the writings of the apostles were widespread.<\/p>\n<p>Holy tradition should also be thought of as the stream of living water flowing out from Pentecost into all the church in the years and centuries following.<\/p>\n<p>This is true despite the fact that the Church&#8212;like Israel of old&#8212;has oftentimes failed in her calling and mission.
