Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers\u2019 tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then the king said to me, \u201cWhat do you request?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>So I prayed to the God of heaven.\u00a0And I said to the king, \u201cIf it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers\u2019 tombs, that I may rebuild it.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Nehemiah 2:2-5<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So I prayed to the God of heaven.\u00a0 This wasn&#8217;t a long, drawn-out prayer.\u00a0 There wasn&#8217;t time for that.\u00a0 This was an arrow prayer, so to speak.\u00a0 Straight and swift to God.\u00a0 Yet this wasn&#8217;t an off-the-cuff prayer.\u00a0 Nehemiah had been praying for days\u00a0about this.\u00a0 Fasting even.\u00a0 What a lesson for us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I became dreadfully afraid,\u00a0and said to the king, \u201cMay the king live forever!
