And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?\u00a0\u00a0 Jeremiah 12:5<\/em><\/p>\n<p>None of\u00a0us\u00a0can know what lies ahead for us.\u00a0 We would all agree\u00a0it is a good thing that we don&#8217;t.\u00a0 Life lived, day by day, brings enough anxiety.\u00a0 If we had also to\u00a0deal today with tomorrow&#8217;s\u00a0problems, or next year&#8217;s problems, it would be crushing.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, we all do that to some extent.\u00a0 It&#8217;s called worry.\u00a0 Someone has said that worry is really\u00a0low-grade fear. Fear of the\u00a0 future.\u00a0 Insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>God gives us grace for today&#8212;right now.\u00a0 He does not\u00a0give us grace to face what might be tomorrow.\u00a0 Anything might be.\u00a0 Our security is in God, in His providence\u00a0and\u00a0provision, whether we are called upon\u00a0to skip across the brook Kidron, or wade into the floodplain of the mighty Jordan river.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses?
