Prayer can be\u00a0very head-clearing, even cathartic.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s not all.\u00a0 Prayer changes <em>things<\/em>.\u00a0 Not magically.\u00a0 Not presto changeo. But actually, albeit mysteriously, according to the will of God.\u00a0 When we doubt this,\u00a0or underemphasize it, we risk becoming\u00a0sinfully complacent, saying in our heart, &#8220;The Lord will not do good, nor will he do evil.\u00a0 He will not <em>do<\/em> anything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Our God is Unchanging, but He is in the changing business.\u00a0 After all, isn&#8217;t real change&#8212;a new creation inside<em> and<\/em> out, personally<em> and<\/em> universally&#8212;isn&#8217;t that what salvation is all about?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And it shall come to pass at that time that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men who are settled in complacency, who say in their heart, \u2018The Lord will not do good, nor will He do evil.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zephaniah 1:12 Prayer changes us, it is true.\u00a0 Prayer is humbling.
