Then the man of God started weeping.\u00a0 \u201cWhat\u2019s the matter, my lord?\u201d Hazael asked him.\u00a0 Elisha replied, \u201cI know the terrible things you will do to the people of Israel. You will burn their fortified cities, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lord permitted Elisha to see into the future, and it brought him to tears.\u00a0 How fortunate we are that we can&#8217;t see the future.
